Making it easier for everyone to see, hear, use and personalize their communication and devices is at the heart of our commitment to accessibility. In 2012 we:

• Introduced a personal emergency-response system.
• Will soon launch a first-run, video-described FiOS movie service.
• Began a pilot project testing a text-to-911 service.

• Two national service centers devoted to people with disabilities

• Messaging and chat-without-talking smartphone applications

We offer a host of solutions to make a positive impact on the lives of customers with disabilities, senior citizens, and children.

Text-Only Messaging Plans

These plans are specially designed for those who do not use voice minutes to communicate. Nationwide Messaging plans include unlimited text, picture, video messaging and more.

Big-Button Phones for the Visually Impaired

For customers who need larger fonts or a larger keypad, Verizon Wireless offers the Samsung Gusto 2, which has voice commands and prominent dedicated keys.

Video Relay Service via Tablets and Smartphones

The deaf, hard of hearing or speech disabled can place or receive Video Relay Service (VRS) calls via a special app on PCs as well as Android and Apple iPads and smartphones.
